This is my fourth painting of Rainier cherries. I enjoy painting them because they have so much variation in color, from a pale yellow to deep, rich red. The salt glazed bowl holding them is my latest acquisition that I found at the Brickerville Antique Barn in Pennsylvania, while antiquing with my brother and husband. Since it is handmade, I think of it as a collaboration with an unknown artisan who, like me, also had that innate desire to create.
